Observations

Puccini’s opera style is called verismo, meaning the stories and characters are rooted in real life.  This, along with gorgeous music may explain the fact that his operas have never fallen out of favor.  However, judging from his handwritten scores, it’s hard to understand how anything musical can flow from the beautiful but incomprehensible marks on the page, and yet……
