BIOGRAPHY
Simone Dinnerstein

Simone Dinnerstein was born in New York in 1972. She is the daughter of the well-known figurative painter, Simon Dinnerstein. At age 15, Dinnerstein went to London to study with Maria Curcio, a former student of Artur Schnabel. Dinnerstein continued her studies in London for six years, then returned to New York where she attended Juilliard as a student of Peter Serkin. In 2007, she self-financed a recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations (Telarc CD-80692). In its first week of release, the recording ranked No.1 on the Billboard classical music CD sales chart and appeared on a number of “Best of 2007” lists including those of the NY Times, the LA Times, the New Yorker, Time Out New York, several radio stations, iTunes “Editor’s Choice Best Classical,” Amazon.com Best CDs of 2007, and Barnes and Nobel’s Top 5 Debut CDs of 2007.

Since then, she has gone on to tour and perform as soloist with many of the major national and international orchestras, organize and produce a wide range of concerts often featuring artists and groups not usually associated with classical music. In addition to her orchestral appearances, she has also performed as a chamber musician in concerts of contemporary music. She continues to record with Sony Classical. Dinnerstein is arguably one of the most active and innovative soloists on today’s musical stage.
