Observations

Debussy – “Pour Les Arpegés Composé”  This is one of 12 examples of extremely difficult piano exercises Debussy composed in 1915.  They were not intended to elicit any emotional response.  Instead, Debussy is quoted as saying these are “a warning to pianists not to take up the musical profession unless they have remarkable hands”.  I would therefore surmise that this exercise line is a short, sweet, and probably a very tough work out.
